Bison

Often spotted grazing in open meadows near the entrance road, these iconic animals are the largest land mammals in North America—and a rare sight in the Grand Canyon!

Elk

These graceful giants are frequently seen at dawn or dusk. With their towering antlers and quiet majesty, elk add a serene magic to the North Rim experience.

Mule Deer

Named for their large ears, mule deer are common along trails and in forested areas. They move with quiet elegance and are often spotted near the lodge.

California Condor

One of the rarest birds in the world, the California condor has a wingspan of nearly 10 feet. Watch the skies for a breathtaking glimpse of this endangered species.

Kaibab Squirrel
