North Rim Reopens for Summer 2026

We’re pleased to share that the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is scheduled to reopen for the 2026 summer season beginning May 15.

This season marks a meaningful return following the 2025 Dragon Bravo Fire. While the North Rim experience will look different this year, it offers a rare opportunity to witness the canyon in a quieter, more reflective state where resilience and recovery are part of the landscape itself.

Visitors can expect access to select scenic drives, viewpoints, and trails, with a focus on day use and limited backcountry opportunities. Services will be minimal, and visitors should plan ahead for a more remote experience, including limited or no access to potable water, fuel, lodging, or other amenities within the park. Please note that the Grand Canyon Lodge will not be open this season.

Throughout the season, the General Store and Gas Station will provide essential supplies, along with grab-and-go food and beverages. The North Rim Campground is expected to reopen for tent and RV camping (no hookups) as conditions allow, with reservations available through Recreation.gov once confirmed.

As recovery efforts continue, conditions may change, and temporary closures may occur to ensure visitor safety. We encourage all guests to stay informed and come prepared. For additional information, visit www.nps.gov/grca/northrimstatus.htm.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the North Rim where the journey is as much about discovery as it is about perspective.
